Narcissus IV

If thy love poured from a mountain,

and its splash echoed through thy veins,

I’d lust for an eternal thirst

and drink from thy heart’s reserve.

If thy blood were water,

the elixir of our existence,

I would slay thy arms and legs;

lest I quench for anything more.

Alas, thy love is eternal,

for it is within thy soul.

The blood I seek,

I am my own heart.
